Quotation Inspiration

Quotation Inspiration

by Niki Wyre

Welcome to day 2 of the Wego Health’s 30 posts in 30 days 🙂 Today we are asked to find a quote that truly speaks to us whether in a positive or negative light. If you have been a follower for awhile now, you probably noticed, I really really love collecting quotes that inspire me. I actually made a resolution for 2012, which I’m more than happy to keep up, in finding one quote a day that speaks to me, touches me on some level, inspires me or strikes a chord in my journey. I often feel the need to share the quotes with both my Facebook friends and RA Chicks followers. If you haven’t checked out the section here on rachicks.com, Quotes for Your Autoimmune Arthritis Life, check it out. Bookmark it to check back later if you are need of a pick me up or inspiration as well. Please feel free to share.

For today’s blog, I chose the following quote:

“Concealing an illness is like keeping a beach ball under water.”

Quote by Karen Duffy

I don’t think I could of put this in a better way than Karen Duffy. Have you ever tried to hide your illness? Not tell your coworkers or employer? Minimize it or pretend its not there? Now have you ever tried to hold a beach ball under water? Sure you can hold it under for a short amount of time, perhaps putting your body over it to keep it down. Eventually you can’t hold it under any longer. It will burst up to the surface. The same could be said of our illnesses and chronic conditions. You may think you have it under wraps or under control, but when you least suspect it, it can’t be ignored. It will always find a way to rise up. Ignoring it won’t make it go away. Pretending it isn’t there won’t make it so.

Do you have a quote that truly speaks to you that you would like to share? How do you feel about this quote?
