Lisa Copen has lived with RA since she was 24 years old, diagnosed in 1993, and later with fibromyalgia. She is the founder of Rest Ministries, restministries.com, a Christian ministry that serves those who live with chronic illness or pain and the author of numerous books on illness, including “Beyond Casseroles: 505 Ways to Encourage a Chronically Ill Friend.” She resides in San Diego with her husband and eight-year-old son and is currently working on a book for chronically ill moms.
